D. MOVEMENTS DEPARTING ACFS SIDING:
When a train is ready to depart from the ACFS siding, the Driver must:
- Advise the ARTC Network Controller details of the train and that the train is ready to depart.

The ARTC Network Controller must:
- Establish if any other trains will be impacted by the train departing;
- Set a route for the train from Signal APD20, and
- Advise the Driver of any other rail activities that maybe impacted and provide permission for the train to depart the Emerald siding.

The Driver must:
- Liaise with any other driver of trains that may be impacted and advise of the proposed train;
- Depart the respective track, and
- Ensure signal APD20 is at proceed for the departing train.

8. APPLETON WHARF SIDING
A. OVERVIEW
The Appleton Wharf Siding is a single dead-end track connected to Appleton Siding No.4 track and is a Common User siding managed by ARTC on behalf of the Port of Melbourne.

Trains or rail vehicles are not permitted to be stabled on the Appleton Wharf Siding without authority of the ARTC Train Transit Manager and when stabled, may only be stabled for the period determined by the ARTC Train Transit Manager
Appleton Dock Rd Level Crossing is located between Appleton No.4 track and the Appleton Wharf Siding and is provided with Active Level Crossing protection consisting of Flashing lights. Level crossing operation controls are provided either side of the Appleton Dock Rd Level Crossing to allow the level crossing to be operated for trains.

The Level Crossing will automatically cancel after the train has passed over the level crossing.

B. ACCESS TO THE APPLETON WHARF SIDING
When a train is required to proceed into the Appleton Wharf siding the rail operators qualified worker must:
- Advise the ARTC Network Controller details of the required train and request authority to shunt into the Appleton Wharf Siding.

The ARTC Network Controller must:
- Establish if any other trains will be impacted by the train shunting, and
- Advise the Driver of any other rail activities that maybe impacted and provide permission to shunt.

The rail operators qualified worker must:
- Liaise with any other driver of trains that may be impacted and advise of the proposed train;
- Undertake the train as authorised by the ARTC Network Controller, and
- Advise the ARTC Network Controller when the shunting has been completed.

C. OCCUPANCY LIMITS OF APPLETON DOCK RD
When a movement is required to shunt or proceed over Appleton Dock Rd, the maximum time that Appleton Dock Rd may be occupied is 5 minutes during which trains must not come to a stand on the level crossing.

Upon completion of the train movement, another train movement must not occur over the level crossing for 5 minutes.

9. VICTORIA DOCK SIDINGS
A. OVERVIEW
Victoria Dock Sidings is operated by Qube and is accessed via the Victoria Dock lead.

Trains proceeding into the Victoria Dock sidings must operate in accordance with Qube operating protocols.

There are two signals for departing or shunting movements, signal APD 8 immediately beyond the Victoria Dock siding, and signal APD 24 at Appleton Dock Junction.

Signal APD 8 can be set to proceed by the ARTC Network Controller and will remain at proceed to allow shunting movements to occur as required.

The driver of a departing movement must not assume that a proceed aspect on signal APD 8 is to allow a train to depart the sidings and must contact the ARTC Network Controller prior to departing.

B. TRAIN ARRIVING
When entering the Victoria Dock sidings, the driver of any movements must operate in accordance with the processes set out by Qube.

C. DEPARTING OR SHUNTING VICTORIA DOCK (QUBE) SIDINGS TOWARD SOUTH DYNON
Movements requiring to shunt or ready to depart from Victoria Dock (Qube) sidings must contact the ARTC Network Controller and provide details of the required movements, and request that signal APD8 be set to proceed.

Provided the departing or shunting movement does not interact with an arriving movement, or other activities the ARTC Network Controller may operate the required signals for the train movement.

If the train is shunting, the ARTC Network Controller must be advised when the shunting has been completed.
